We bring you the best highlights from Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015.
Designer duo Hemant and Nandita brought back the 70’s era with their collection Boho Caravan. “The entire line was inspired from a resort called Khyber resort in Gulmarg, Kashmir, where we had stayed last season Their collection was composed of long flowing gowns, capes, overcoat in tweeds, plaids, wools, silks. Fringes and tassels too played a major role.
The collection started off with a small girl, walking down the runway and represented 16 different forms of kumari:. Fabrics like cotton silk, heavy satin, silk, zari, etc. were highlighted. The collection was simply mindblowing.
Malini Ramani’s collection was bold, gothic and deep. A lot of different kind of embroideries with sequin work was seen. Asymmetrical silhouettes, full length skirts with high slits. Models sashayed down with dark eye makeup and braids adding to the drama.
Called “An Early Frost”, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s collection is inspired by the colours of a cold forest, illustrated by ash grey, dark oak, and whitish mist colours. Of course, the designs leaned heavily towards monochromes. We saw some lots layering, exaggerated sleeves, cropped trousers, high waisted skirts, and fur-inspired textures.
Agarwals collection was unique. His love for metallic was seen along with shades of brick reds black and blues. He experimented a lot with his silhouettes like skater skirts, oversized jackets, tops, lycra leggings, straight cut dresses.
